INDIANAPOLIS — Joey Feek, in hospice care with cervical cancer, was nominated for a Grammy award Monday.

Feek and her husband, Rory Feek, make up the country music duo Joey + Rory. The Alexandria native is fighting Stage IV cervical cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2014. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter, Indiana.

Rory recently said Joey’s condition had worsened and she was no longer able to get out of bed. Monday morning, though, he got to wake her up in bed with the news that one of their songs, “If I Needed You,” had been nominated for a Grammy.
