MIDDLEBURY — Carbon monoxide poisoning has sent some workers from Forest River RV plant in Middlebury early this morning, Monday, Dec. 7.
Emergency crews were called around 7 a.m. to the plant were at least five were taken by ambulance to the hospital with around a dozen taken by bus.
Middlebury Fire Chief Jeff Wogman reports a furnace exhaust system had rusted through, causing fumes to go directly into the building. Many workers were suffering from headaches, nausea and other symptoms.
The plant employs approximately 140.
