Whitko Ladies Still Perfect On Road
DENVER – The happy bus rides back home continued for the Whitko girls basketball team Saturday night.
The Wildcats remained perfect on the season in road games with a dominating conference win at North Miami.
Whitko used a huge third-quarter effort in routing the host Warriors 61-23 in a Three Rivers Conference contest.
The Wildcats, who improved to 7-0 on the road this year, led just 10-7 after the opening period. Whitko built a 29-14 halftime lead and then outscored the hosts 23-2 in the third frame en route to the win.
Aly Reiff led the way for Whitko with 22 points in the league win. The Wildcats, who are ranked No. 8 in Class 2-A, improved to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the TRC.
Brianna Cumberland and Jennifer Reiff each scored eight points for the winners.
North Miami drops to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Whitko hosts Manchester Friday. North Miami plays at Peru on Wednesday night.
