SYRACUSE – Manchester made a close first half look like a very easy win as the Squires pulled away for a 70-37 victory against Wawasee in boys buckets at the Hardwood Teepee.

Manchester led just 32-23 at the half but would extend to a 46-29 lead after three as Wawasee went ice cold from the floor. The Squires would then get white hot in the final quarter, scoring 24 points on 10 makes to salt away the win. Wawasee made just six shots in the second half.

Chase Fierstos was a monster for the Squires (2-1), scoring 26 points with 14 of those in the first half. Koehl Fluke added 12 of his 14 points in the second half. Braydon Sewell chipped in 10 points for the Squires.

Wawasee, which falls to 0-3 this season, had nine players make the scoresheet, but none had more than seven points. Tyler Smith was the high man, with Cameron Schlabach at six points and Jayce Boatwright and Cayden Wegener each with five points.
