Irene Hanson of Fountain Valley, Calif. passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Seasons CareHome of Warsaw, at the age of 89.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past seven years. She was a homemaker and past member of Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce in Fountain Valley, Calif. Irene was a graduate of Thornton High School in Harvey, Ill.
She was born on Aug. 13, 1926, in Harvey, Ill. to John Kornafel and Anna (Tymoc) Kornafel. On Aug. 14, 1948 she was married in Harvey, Ill. to Allan D. Hanson who passed away in 1992.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Donna (Ty) Propp, Warsaw; Dale (Thomas) Hanson Bourke, Chevy Chase, Md.; four grandsons: Dr. Chase Hanson Bourke, San Diego, Calif.; Tyler Jackson Bourke, Baltimore, Md.; Christopher (Kate) Propp, Wausau, Wis.; Matthew Propp, Fort Wayne; one granddaughter; Emily Propp, Warsaw. She also leaves behind her sister: Phyllis (Jim) Gouwens, DeMotte; and her brother: John Kornafel, South Holland, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Alice Patterson; and a brother: Andy Kornafel.
No visitation or services are planned. She will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana.
