WARSAW — Could you use some entertainment on a cold winter’s night or a bit of winding down after a long day of holiday shopping? Look no further than the Warsaw Community Public Library to meet all your entertainment needs. Lately there have been quite a number of new film releases that are engaging. Here are a few that you might find enjoyable.

“The Gift” focuses on a newly-married couple who, after an encounter with an old high school “buddy” of the husband’s, begin receiving mysterious gifts and run-ins with this peculiar man. The husband and wife try their best to handle the bizarre events as they begin to get creepier. As the film unfolds, and the truth comes out, these inexplicable occurrences take on a whole new meaning. This film sneaks up on you, proving that a compelling story is really all you need to make a riveting film.

The Griswolds are back and it’s been 18 years since we’ve been on “Vacation” with them. Their son Rusty is all grown up with a family of his own. His bored wife and combatant sons are sick of the same old family getaways so he plans to recreate his famous trip to Walley World. Sadly for Rusty, he has inherited the Griswold disaster gene. Their pilgrimage to visit Marty Moose is a non-stop laugh riot. “Vacation” is definitely not for kids or the easily offended.

“Jurassic World” brings back iconic elements from the original 1993 film but thrusts us forward into uncharted Jurassic territory. The film starts slow while it builds up the storyline. After the action starts it’s nonstop. The animation of the dinosaurs was astonishing. Dinosaurs, and Chris Pratt, does it get better than that?

Every once in a while, an extraordinary movie comes along; “Tomorrowland” is one of those movies. This is a movie with a real message. Optimism and hope and the will to change are what makes this film a sheer success. With all the political rhetoric hitting the media these days, it is a message and lesson everyone needs to hear and learn. This is a rare find in today’s movie world of horror, violence, and apocalypse. It’s family friendly, empowers kids to make a difference, and made by Disney. Those are reasons enough to watch “Tomorrowland.”

Come in to the library and pick up one of these films or another of your liking.
