Jerry Nolin, co-owner of the Dairy Queen at 2304 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, wanted to do something for local children served by Riley Children’s Hospital, and he did just that.

Nolin spent time camped out on the roof of his business to support a local fund that helps families who rely on the famed children’s hospital.

Nolin’s recent stakeout raised over $5,000, of which $4,676 was given to the Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund, which is held at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. A few of the donors who responded to Jerry’s roof stakeout made their checks directly to Riley Children’s Hospital or the Children’s Miracle Network, which serves Riley Children’s Hospital. All the money raised will help seriously ill children and their families.

Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible. For more information about the Community Foundation, visit www.kcfoundation.org, call 574-267-1901, or visit the office at 102 E. Market St., Warsaw.
