Vikings Drop One To Dragons
ARGOS – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team came up on the short end of a 51-38 final at Argos Tuesday night.
The Vikings for the second straight game struggled to score points in losing to the Dragons.
Valley, which opened its season with a 60-35 home loss to Warsaw last Wednesday, fell behind 18-8 after the opening period Tuesday night. Argos led 23-19 at halftime and 37-26 after three quarters en route to the non-conference win.
The Vikings shot 14-40 overall from the field, including 6-19 from 3-point land. Valley was also out rebounded by a 28-13 margin in the loss.
Alec Craig was the lone Valley player to score in double figures as he tallied a game-high 19 points. He also led the Vikings with five rebounds in the game.
Neil Clampitt finished with five points for the Vikings.
Javan Miller led the Dragons with 16 points. Argos shot 20-36 overall from the field in the win.
Vinny Stone and Drew Bollenbacher each had 12 points for the winners.
Valley won the junior varsity contest by a 44-20 final.
Valley (0-2) plays at Knox and Argos (2-0) plays at Winamac on Friday night.
