Doris Lucille GuyDoris Lucille Guy, 91, formerly of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 10:48 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.

Doris was a lifelong resident of Kosciusko County, where she was a 1942 graduate of Etna Green High School. She had worked at Playtime in Warsaw in the 1940’s, and helped run Guy’s Grocery in Niles, Mich., in the 1960’s. Doris retired after working in the etching and packaging department for 15 years for Zimmer, Inc. in Warsaw.  She attended Grace Village Chapel Church, a homemaker, enjoyed going to garage sales and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed her family…especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1924 in Etna Green, to Orris Sylvester Baker and Artie Nancy (Hauck) Baker. On Nov. 23, 1950, she was married to James Maxwell “Max” Guy, who passed away on May 17, 2005.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Nancy (Samuel) Collins, Warsaw; son: James (Renee) Guy, Warsaw; step-daughter: Janet Hoffer, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her daughter; Leah Marie Guy who died Feb. 15, 1969; and her step-son: Larry Maxwell Guy who died in 1956.  he was also preceded in death by three sisters, a half-sister and two half-brothers.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and will be officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Pleasant View Cemetery in Warsaw.

Memorial donations may be directed to Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, 2033 South CR 150W, Warsaw, Indiana  46580 to go towards the Ramp Project.
