Willa Mae McIntosh, 87, Columbia City, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at her home.
She was born July 10, 1928, in Perry County, Ky., a daughter of the late Buddy and Mary (Deboard) Daniels. Her formative years were spent in Vicco, Ky. where she attended Defiance Grade School and Vicco High School.
In 1945, she was united in marriage to Eugene McIntosh. They made their home in Kentucky until 1964 when they moved to Columbia City. Mr. McIntosh died Sept. 22, 1990. She was a full-time homemaker until her children were raised when she took a job with Alcoils, Columbia City. She had over 10 years of service.
She was member of the Freewill Baptist Church and their Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed quilting and crotchet. She loved her family and will be missed by all.
Surviving include three daughters: Phyllis (Thomas) Reed; Karen Sue Crawford; and Donna Kay LaFollette, all of Columbia City; four sons: Paul (Vicky) McIntosh; Lowell McIntosh; Alger (Shelley) McIntosh, all of Columbia City; and Ray (Helen) McIntosh, Vandalia, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a beloved sister: Hazel Thompson. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Kenneth; Vernon; Mitchell; James; and Elmer Daniels; three sisters: Faye Jennings; Pearl Hensley; and Edna Duff; a grandchild: Rhonda Reed; and a great-grandchild: Taylor McIntosh.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Freewill Baptist Church, Columbia City. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
