Cromwell Resident One Of Victims In Goshen Fatality
A 46-year-old Cromwell woman was one of two victims in a fatal accident in the 1900 block of Lincolnway East, Goshen, Wednesday evening, Nov. 18.
Waneta Rodes, 46, Cromwell, passenger in a 2007 Mitsubishi Exlipse and the driver, Dustin A. Moutria, 26, Goshen, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Goshen Police were called to a crash around the 1900 block of Lincolnway East, Goshen, at 9:20 p.m. A 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible car had struck the rear of a flatbed trailer being hauled by a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup in the northbound lane of Lincolnway East. The driver and passenger of the Dodge were not injured in the collision.
As a result of the collision, the Mitsubishi was flipped, landing on its roof, and slid approximately 600 feet along the highway. The vehicle came to rest in a grassy area near 1827 Lincolnway East.
According to investigating officers/accident reconstructionist, excessive speed does appear to have been a factor in the collision.
