SOUTH BEND — Beards, goatees and mustaches.

It was all part of South Bend Beard and Mustache Championship at the History Museum.

The facial hair was judged in several categories including: Best Mustache, Best Beard, Best Freestyle, and People’s Choice.

“It’s a big hoot. I love being the people’s choice as your beard and mustache winner in the first annual south bend history museum contest. I don’t think I’ve ever shaved my mustache. I did it just because it feels natural. Cause it’s me,” said People’s Choice winner, Steve Sikorski.

The contest helped showcase an Facial Hair exhibit at the museum.

It explores how facial hair popularity has varied throughout history.

A portion of the money raised will go to a local charity.
