The Friends of the Milford Library group is seeking recipes that will be compiled into a Milford community cookbook.

In order to make the fundraising cookbook a fun and useful addition to anyone’s kitchen, the group is seeking the widest possible contribution of recipes from present and past residents of the Milford area.

“Our goal is to involve the community in composing the cookbook,” Friends of the Library leader Carol Haab said, “and to raise lots of money for the library!”

The anticipated purchase price of the cookbook will be $15. Sales are expected to begin in early 2013 and the proceeds will support the programs of the Milford Public Library, which include reading programs for all ages, summer entertainment for children and a Christmas visit by Santa Claus.

The deadline for contributing recipes is Oct. 1. Contributors are asked to use the standardized Food for Thought recipe forms that are available now at the Milford Public Library and also at various other locations around town.

Contact Haab at (574) 658-4604, or Earleen Fisher at (574) 658-4660 for more information.
