Robert Allen HockerRobert Allen Hocker, 85, Westfield, formerly of North Liberty, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was born on April 12, 1930, in LaPorte, to Dola Elno and Lucille (McClain) Hocker. On Dec. 28, 1952, in Bremen, he married the former Norma Jean Hochstetler.

Mr. Hocker is survived by his wife: Norma Jean Hocker; daughter: LeAnn (Russell) Schelling, Carmel; two grandchildren: John (Patricia) Schelling, Sheridan; and Jeffrey (Carrie) Schelling, Fortville; and two great-grandchildren: Jeffrey and Colton Schelling. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Francis Morris; and Mary Lou Hocker.

Mr. Hocker was a lifelong area resident. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Hocker Transfer, Inc. He then worked for 11 years as a driver for Yellow Freight until his retirement. He was a member of the Teamster #364, North Liberty American Legion, past president of the North Liberty Lions Club and the district governor of Wells Aluminum Industrial Committee to keep the company from relocating. Mr. Hocker was a member of the First Baptist Church, North Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, North Liberty. Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the Palmer Funeral Home, North Liberty, and one hour prior to the services at church on Saturday.
