Dennis B. Dolby, 70, North Manchester, died at 11:32 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1945, in Huntington County, to Eugene and Reba (Beals) Dolby.
Dennie was a 1963 graduate of Lancaster High School, in Huntington County. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He married Jeanne Warren in North Manchester, on Sept. 21, 1968. He worked at Midwestern United Life Insurance Company, in Fort Wayne, for 25 years; he then worked at Ford Meter Box Company, in Wabash, retiring in 2010. Dennie was a member of The First Brethren Church, North Manchester, and served as the financial secretary. He was a member and past-president of the North Manchester Kiwanis Club, a member of the North Manchester VFW, and a life-member of the North Manchester Jaycees. Dennie enjoyed traveling, southern gospel music, and was a “diehard” New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife: Jeanne Dolby, North Manchester; two daughters: Cheree (Stephen) WIlliams, Fishers; Amber (Michael) Rowland, Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Megan Williams; Trevor Williams, both of Fishers; and Natalie Rowland; and Nathan Rowland, both of Indianapolis; two brothers: Brian (Bev) Dolby, New Haven; and Lance (Linda) Dolby, Urbana; sister: Marla (Joe) Rakoczy, Huntington; and two sisters-in-law: Ruth Ann (Lee) Chrisman; and Janice Fuller, both of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: Frank Warren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends may call 2-8 p.m Thursday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home.
