Lewis “Dobie” Slone Jr., 75, Warsaw, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1940, to Lewis Slone Sr. and Allie (Slone) Slone in Prestonsburg, Ky.
He is a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He retired from RR Donnelley, Warsaw. He loved eating his tomatoes, egg custard pie and chicken and dumplings. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, joking and spending time with family and friends.
Dobie is survived by his two brothers: Bill (Lois) Slone and Lon Edith) Slone, both of Claypool; one sister: Janice (Carlos) Hall, Warsaw; one special nephew: David Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; two sisters; and a son: Donald Ray Slone.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate the service. Visitation will be also be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
