Travis James Johnson
A domestic dispute leads to a substantial drug find by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies Sunday night.

Travis James Johnson, 35, of Warsaw, was arrested when officers were called to a domestic disturbance occurring in a vehicle in the area of CR 200 North and Bell Drive, north of Warsaw. Deputy Jim Smith located the vehicle in question as it turned off the roadway and into a driveway.

Johnson, the driver, exited the vehicle and was questioned by the deputy on the domestic complaint.  During the interview, it was determined that Johnson’s driver’s license was suspended. As Deputy Smith began to search Johnson for weapons, he noticed a bag of green leafy substance, later determined to be marijuana.

The vehicle Johnson had been driving was impounded and during the inventory, deputies located a bag containing more marijuana as well as portable digital scales. Further inventory of the vehicle’s trunk produced a large package containing approximately 11.4 pounds of marijuana.

Johnson was arrested and preliminarily charged with intent to deal marijuana and driving while suspended/prior.  He is currently being held without bond.
