Blanche E. Myers Norman, 93, of Wabash, Ind., and formerly of the Akron and Macy, Ind., areas, passed away at 1:32 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor East, Wabash, Ind.
She was born May 22, 1919, in Washington County, Ind., to Oren and Alta E. Smith Howard. On Oct. 24, 1937, she married Lawson E. Myers in Amboy, Ind. He passed away on Feb. 25, 1966. On June 10, 1972, in Miami County, Ind., she married W. Glen Norman. He passed away Dec. 11, 1996.
Blanche was a homemaker and had also worked at Controls Inc. in North Manchester, Ind. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and cooking with one of her specialties being butterscotch pie.
She is survived by a daughter: Judy (James) Friend, Rochester, Ind.; two sons: Steven (Peggy) Myers, Macy, Ind.; Randy (Peggy) Myers, Roann, Ind.; five grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a step-daughter: Mary Jo (Jim) Frushour, Rochester, Ind.; a step-son: Larry (Lorraine) Norman, Akron, Ind.; 16 step-grandchildren; 32 step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands: Lawson E. Myers and W. Glen Norman; and a son: David Myers.
Visitation will from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Clymer Cemetery, Waupecong, Ind.
