Margaret Adena FairchildMargaret Adena Fairchild, 75, Columbia City, passed away at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Fairchild was born on Dec. 25, 1939, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Parker) Hyser. She spent her formative years in Roanoke, and attended Roanoke High School.

On Nov. 13, 1956, she was married in Roanoke to Harold O. Fairchild, Sr., and moved from Roanoke to Columbia City. The couple moved to her present home in 1966. She was employed at G.E. and Dana for a period of time, but her real job was raising her family. Mrs. Fairchild was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church.

Her spouse preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2011.

The surviving relatives include three sons: Harold ‘Jack’ (Jeannine) Fairchild Jr., Columbia City; Brian Fairchild, Albion; and Adam (Maria) Fairchild, Churubusco; two daughters: Pam (Kevin) Pequignot, Columbia City; and Brenda (Tom) Brumbaugh, Columbia City; a brother: Richard (Carol) Hyser, Columbia City; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Clarence Hyser Jr.; George Hyser; Tom Hyser; Gene Hyser; John Hyser; Norman Hyser; Britt Hyser; four sisters: Helen Boze; Shirley Ottinger; and two infant sisters.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, with Father Danney Pinto, the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, or at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
