Orville A. WeiskeOrville A. Weiske, 86, Rochester, passed away at 11:51 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

He was born on April 2, 1929, in Custer Park, Ill., the son of Arthur George and Emma (Tooper) Weiske. His early life was spent in the Custer Park, Reddick and Manhattan, Ill. areas. His father passed away in Aug. of 1943, at which time, he, his mother and younger sister, Irene, located to Rochester. Orv graduated from Rochester High School in 1947. While in high school, in addition to his studies, he spent much of his time playing sports. He was very active in track, softball, and basketball. After graduation he continued his love of sports playing baseball and golf.

On Aug. 28, 1949, in Rochester, he married his high school sweetheart, Lois Ann Gilger, daughter of Dr. Cecil and Fanny Gilger. In May of 1950, Lois and Orv were blessed with a lovely daughter, Annette and in May of 1954, were blessed again with another lovely daughter, Renee. The family spent many happy times together living in Rochester, Plymouth, Indianapolis, Carmel and returning back home to Lake Manitou.

Orv started his professional career working for Seaboard Finance in Rochester and Plymouth. He eventually spent the majority of his working years with American Fletcher National Bank, Indianapolis, Indiana. He retired as Assistant Vice President with Bank One, now Chase Bank. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Elk’s Lodge, Moose Lodge, Past President of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club and a member of Phi Delta Fraternity. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, watching all sports, especially following the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts, fishing and over the years traveling with his wife Lois.

Survivors include his daughters: Annette Millikan, Noblesville; Renee Spoor, Brownsburg; grandchildren: Julie (Walter) Setmeyer, Noblesville; Jonathan (Sarah) Millikan, Nashville; Kate (Kris) Kingery, Brownsburg; Chelsea Spoor, Brownsburg; great-grandchildren: Millie; Sam; Meg Setmeyer, all of Noblesville; Ella; Caroline; Amelia Kingery, all of Brownsburg; sister: Irene Ritenour, Chicago, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 62 years: Lois Weiske, on Feb. 24, 2012; son-in-laws: Ernie Millikan; Tim Spoor; sisters: Lucille Esther Nicklaus; Mildred Clear; Bernice Fitzgerald; and Velma Hawkins; brothers: Lennard; Vernon; and Willard Weiske.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or Katie’s Hear to Help, Danville. The family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit staff at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, for their dedicated and loving care of Orv over the past few weeks.
