Mary WrightMary Marie Lewis Wright, known to all as just Mary, was a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, passed away at 6:42 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Grace Village Health Care at the age of 86.

Mary resided with her husband Charlie in West Prestonsburg, Ky. and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until moving to Warsaw, in 1960. She worked at Owens Illinois (Kimble Glass) in Warsaw until her retirement in 1986. Mary was a member of Cooks Chapel Church in Warsaw, loved to collect antiques and was fond of garage sales, auctions, and meeting people. She was an avid reader, and loved to grow flowers and garden.

She was born on May 11, 1929, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to John Lewis and Maggie (Hunt) Lewis. On Jan. 10, 1949, she was married to the love of her life Charlie Wright, who passed away on April 1, 1995, 20 years, seven months, and one day before her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Charles (Melva) Wright, Winona Lake; two daughters: Pat (Bryon) Slater, Hermosa Beach, Calif.; Tammy Gettinger, Columbia City; five grandchildren: Tim (Brandi) Wright, Winona Lake; Catherine Slater, Boston, Mass.; Mary (Chris) Jones, Houston, Texas; Nichole Woodard, Columbia City; Abigale Gettinger, West Lafayette; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Harold; Mack; Joe; and Rudolf Lewis; and five sisters: Callie Lewis; Myrtle Knisley; Vannie Mae Rickman; Amma Jackson; and Bonnie Spears

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery of Pierceton.

Memorial donations may be directed to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, Warsaw, and would be appreciated by the family.
