LEESBURG — A lawn mower was destroyed by fire on Tippecanoe Lake this afternoon, with the cause still being investigated by fire officials.

North Webster Fire Department was called to the residence at 113 EMS T15 Lane, Leesburg, around 3:20 p.m. when a lawn mower caught on fire near a residence.

According to information at the scene the homeowner was driving the lawn mower when he noticed smoke. He got off the mower and grabbed the garden hose to try and put out the flames.
