Emilie Mae Harnish, 17, of rural Wabash, died at 11:09 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born May 13, 1998, in Peru, to Chris and Desiree (Robinson) Harnish.

Emilie was a senior at Southwood High School and attended the Wabash Friends Church. Volleyball was her passion, and she played for the Munciana Volleyball Program. Emilie was named the 2015 Wabash County Volleyball Player of the Year.

She is survived by her parents: Chris and Desiree Harnish, Wabash; two sisters: Stacia Harnish, Homosassa, Fla.; and Mollie Harnish, Wabash; grandparents: Charlotte Harnish, Wabash; and Jo Ann and Gary Gummins, Elkhart; aunts and uncles: Brandon Robinson, Asheville, N.C.; Sheryl Galligan; and Shelly Rogers, both of Wabash; Jeff Harnish, Indianapolis; and Greg (Lori) Harnish, Wabash. She was preceded in death by grandfathers: Donald Harnish; and Danny Robinson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Wabash Friends Church, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Friends may call noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Wabash Friends Church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.

Preferred memorial is the family of Emilie M. Harnish.
