ELKHART COUNTY — Alexia Emahiser, 20, Syracuse, suffered lacerations and abrasions to her face in a three vehicle accident in Elkhart County. The accident was at 2:35 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 28, on US 33, south of CR 40, south of Goshen.

Emahiser was northbound on US 33, south of CR 40, in a 2005 Nissan Maxima when she failed to reduce the speed of her vehicle due to the wet road conditions. She lost control of her vehicle, hitting the back of a stopped 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up truck, driven by Carmen Segovia Reyes, 29, Ligonier, and then sideswipe the driver’s side of a 2005 Nissan Maxima, driven by Janelle Hershberger, 48, Millersburg.

The vehicles operated by Reyes and Hershberger were stopped in traffic on US 33. They were not injured.

Emahiser was given a citation for speed too fast for conditions.
