WARSAW – The Edgewood Middle School volleyball teams are on some kind of roll this fall.
The seventh and eighth grade teams won the Lakeview Tournament held at Warsaw Community High School this past Saturday.
The seventh graders defeated Southwood, Wawasee and Wabash in pool play, then trumped Lakeview in the final. Edgewood also traveled to Plymouth Tuesday night and won in straight sets, finishing its sparkling season 28-3 overall. The seventh graders won three tournaments and finished runner-up in two others. The team is coached by Sam Wysong and Michelle Wysong.
The eighth grade team from Edgewood got past Southwood, Wawasee and Wabash in pool play at Saturday’s tournament, and also defeated Lakeview in the final. Concluding its season Tuesday at Plymouth, Edgewood rallied fora 25-24, 20-25, 15-14 win to close out a whopping 30-2 on the season. Coach Bethany Tribbett’s squad will travel to the Munciana Sports Center this Saturday to take on Yorktown for the eighth grade championship.
