Richard “Dick” W. Rule of Warsaw, passed away at 8:26 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Mason Health Care Center of Warsaw at the age of 81.

He was a 1952 graduate of Warsaw High School, and he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956. He served in Korea until his honorable discharge in 1958. Dick was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Warsaw, and a former member of the Oswego Lions Club in Oswego. Dick worked for 43 years for Dalton Foundries in Warsaw and retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Dalton Foundries 25 Year Club and a member of the American Legion #258 in Pierceton.

He was born on March 23, 1934, in Bourbon, to Russell Rule and Ivy (Starrett) Rule. On Aug. 28, 1955, he was married to Carol J. Miller, who preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 1986. Dick then re-married on Nov. 30, 1989, to Carolyn S. (Bailey) Rule, who survives.

He leaves behind four daughters: Teresa (Bill) Baisden, Warsaw; Patricia Kittrell, Warsaw; Angela Groves, Warsaw; Anita (Troy) Johnson, Warsaw; and his son: A. Richard (Brandi) Wine, Chapel Hill, Tenn.; ten grandhchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister: Katherine Deerwester, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Carol; sister: Mary Thomas; brother: Charles Rule; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Redpath-Fruth and will be officiated by Reverend Richard Anderson. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 258 of Pierceton, and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.

Memorial donations may be directed to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, Warsaw; or to the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, and would be appreciated by the family.
