Notre Dame SportsSOUTH BEND – Notre Dame moved up one spot to No. 14 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Sunday.

The Irish improved to 5-1 on the season with a 41-24 win over Navy Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.

Notre Dame hosts USC next Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Trojans, who are just 3-2, dropped out of the Top 25 after losing on Thursday at home to Washington.

There are just two 2015 Notre Dame opponents now in the Top 25.  Clemson, who the Irish lost to, is ranked fifth. Stanford, Notre Dame’s final game, is one spot behind the Irish at No. 15.

Ohio State remains the top-ranked team in the country,  followed by Baylor, TCU, Utah and Clemson.

Michigan, after routing Northwestern Saturday 38-0, jumped six spots this week to No. 12. The Wolverines have won five in a row since a loss to Utah in their season opener. Michigan, which hosts No. 7 Michigan State Saturday afternoon, has posted three straight shutout wins.
