Gene F. Conley, 75, Rochester, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 2, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of Gus and Martha Conley. On July 30, 1959 in Lawton, Okla., he married Pat L. Woodcox and she survives.
Gene was a carpenter by trade, who worked for the Carpenter’s Union, Rochester Building Service, Rochester Homes and he was the owner of Conley Construction. He was a member of Gilead Church, Gilead, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoyed carpentry, fishing, going to garage sales, driving to Toto with his kids, guitar music, playing gospel music with family and friends and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Conley, Rochester; children Lisa Conley Lewis and companion Steve Bryan, Argos, and Lennie Conley, Rochester; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, brothers Oval (Curley), Oddis, Austin, and Arbie, sister Jane, and cousin Doc.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Citizens Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana with Rev. Thad Stewart officiating.
