An Elkhart County RV maker is seeking an abatement that would allow the addition of nearly 450 jobs. Forest River Inc. plans to go before the Goshen City Council Tuesday night to ask for the tax break on a proposed expansion.

Forest River plans to upgrade facilities and hire additional employees at its plants in Goshen, Middlebury and Millersburg.

The Elkhart County Council has already set a public hearing for Aug. 11 on the abatement request.

Dave Ogle, director of business retention and expansion for the Economic Development Corp. of Elkhart County calls the announcement a “great opportunity” for the region’s RV industry supply chain.
