Carl E. JunkinCarl E. Junkin 82, Akron, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday Sept. 14, 2015, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

He was born on April 1, 1933, in Hammond, the son of Elmer C. and Dorothy Mae (Mears) Junkin. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On Aug. 26, 1967, in Schererville, he married Patricia A. Line and she survives.

Mr. Junkin had worked for Bethlehem Steel for over fourteen years and had worked for MV Transportation in Phoenix, Ariz.

Survivors include his wife: Patricia A. Junkin, Akron; children: Carla (Mark) Argentine, Hardenville, Mo.; Sharon K. Higgins, Lowell; Karrie (Jim) Mathias, Rochester; David Junkin, Coco, Fla.; Ron Junkin, Sacramento, Calif.; Susan (Kevin) Grispen, Rochester; Tricia J. Junkin, Ariz.; Theresa (Chris) Hermann, Mesa, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Carol Miller, Fort Wayne; Sharon Turner, Auburn; Charlene Hoffman, Akron. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Ruth Junkin; brothers: Jack Junkin; Bill Junkin; and great-grandson: Tommy Lester.
