Eric Zane Smith, 31, Syracuse, passed away at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at home.

He was born Jan. 31, 1984, in Windber, Pa., to Wes and Lois Bowser.

Eric is survived by his parents; brother: Chad (Trina) Smith, New Paris; father: Mark Pensyl; two nephews: Colton Hite; and Callaghan Smith; one niece: Kalina Smith; one great-nephew: Cayden Hite; and a very special friend: Fred Pilkington.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Warren and Naomi Smith; Carl and Frances Pensyl; and Catherine Ickes.

He graduated from Fairfield High School. Eric enjoyed NASCAR and Steelers football. He was a member of the Ligonier Nazarene Church.

A time of visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Ligonier Nazarene Church, Ligonier, with Pastor John Lutton officiating. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.

Memorial contributions may be given to Ribbon of Hope and United Cancer Fund.
