NorthWood Standout Linville To Play At Grace
WINONA LAKE – The Grace College men’s basketball program did not have to look far to find an outstanding addition to its roster.
Braxton Linville, a standout senior point guard at NorthWood High School, has signed to play for the Lancers beginning in the 2016-2017 season.
Linville, a hard-nosed 6-2 guard, helped lead the Panthers to a 23-3 overall mark and a 6-1 finish in the Northern Lakes Conference during the 2014-15 campaign. NorthWood claimed its second straight Class 3-A sectional championship last season.
Linville has been a key man each of the past two seasons for coach Aaron Wolfe’s program. The Panthers are 44-6 overall and 12-1 in NLC action the last two years.
Linville averaged 15.5 points-per-game as a junior and was the area’s top assist man at six assists per game. He also averaged 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 58 percent overall from the field and 44 percent on 3-point attempts.
Linville, who also received interest from Bethel, Goshen and St. Francis, is having an outstanding season currently as a receiver for the NorthWood football team.
Grace went 23-13 overall and 11-7 in Crossroads League play during the 2014-15 season. The Lancers advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NAIA Tournament and finished sixth in the NCCAA Championships. Grace opens its 2015-16 campaign versus Ohio Midwestern on Oct. 30 in their own Habitat for Humanity Tournament.
