Jeff Melvin, 53, Columbia City, passed away at 8:29 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 19, 1969, in Plymouth, to Jimmie F. Sr. and Martha “Marty” Melvin.

Survivors include his mother: Martha J. Melvin; his best friend: “Nubby”; two sisters: Robin (Dennis) McClain, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and Debra (Ronald) Darr; four brothers: Benjamin (Annette) Melvin; Jimmie (Linda) Melvin Jr.; and Joshua Melvin, all of Columbia City; and Mitchell (Nancy) Melvin, Fort Wayne; three nephews; five nieces; and three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father: Jimmie F. Melvin Sr.
