Indiana is essentially holding steady on a prominent national list of best states to do business. It is 14th in this year’s rankings compiled by CNBC, up one spot from last year.

The business news network ranks Indiana 7th for cost of living, but 40th for quality of life. While the list attracts national attention, Indiana Secretary of Commerce Dan Hasler says he would rather listen to “decision makers” instead of getting caught up in the rankings.
