Nemitz Highlights Girls Meet
Whitko’s girls cross country team lost a close race to Heritage due to Whitko’s fifth runner still being out with an injury.
Brigit Nemitz celebrated her senior night with the Wildcats by finishing first in the race with a time of 20:28. That time was a season-best for the senior. Nemitz’s teammates also ran season bests as Suzi Sickafoose (20:46), Hanna Yohe (22:31) and Lizz Foutz (25:27) rounded out the times for Whitko.
The ‘Cats placed the top three spots but would technically lose the meet due to the absence of a fifth runner. Rachel Saxton (23:22) was Heritage’s top runner.
Boys Drop Meet To Heritage
The boys cross country team had four runners post season-best times but would fall to Heritage 23-41.
Josh Wright (17:27) placed second behind Heritage’s Devin Schmenk (17:19). Logan Busz took third for the ‘Cats (18:06). Zack Freel (20:26), Ezra Miller (20:49) and Kory Gebert (26:50) rounded out the top times for Whitko.
The boys will run with the girls at the Tippecanoe Valley Invite this Saturday.
