Barbara A. Stansell, 70, formerly of Columbia City, died Saturday morning, Sept. 5, 2015, at her home in rural Cromwell where she had been living with her daughter since June.

She was born Aug. 17, 2015, a daughter of Charles Devon and Lois Helen (Edie) Cochran. As an infant, her family moved to New Castle, Pa., then Columbia City. She completed her education at Columbia City Joint High School.

She was employed at Essex Wire & Cable, The Locker Room and retired from The Huddle House in Heflin, Ala. In 2007 she returned to Columbia City after living in Alabama a short time.

Surviving relatives include two children: Charles V. (Jena) Stansell, Garrett; Kama J. (Kirt) Grubb, Cromwell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother and a sister: David Cochran and Betty Cochran, both of Columbia City.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Gaylord “Red” Cochran and Dennis “Fuzz” Cochran.

There will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are being completed by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
