Dougie Marsillett

Douglas Eugene Marsillett III, a big name for a little boy with an even bigger heart, who was affectionately known by everyone as just Dougie, was taken from this world too soon. He passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 5.

He was born on Aug. 8, 2014, in Warsaw, to Mariah Lynn Konkle and Douglas E. Marsillett II.

Dougie was a Jellyfish at Presby Preschool at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he loved to play with his friends. For a five year old boy he was very smart and he knew everything about dinosaurs and animals.  He enjoyed his pet ground hog and two racoons. He had a fish named Carrot and he considered himself a Grandpa to four kittens that he loved. He especially loved the show the Wild Kratts and playing their video games.

Dougie will be forever loved by his mother, Mariah Lynn Konkle (Warsaw) and his father, Douglas E. Marsillett II (Westville). He also leaves behind his brother: Abel Barton (Warsaw); sister:  Kalista Marsillett (Fort Wayne); maternal grandparents: Doug and Roni Wise (Warsaw); Mike Davis (Warsaw) maternal great-grandfather:  Eugene Davis (Warsaw); and his paternal grandparents:  Patty and Douglas Marsillett I (Tippecanoe).

Visitation will be held from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Immediately following visitation, Dougie’s life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service officiated by Mark Davis.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 1048 S. 325 W., Pierceton, IN  46562 in memory of Dougie’s love of animals.

Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
