Sara M. Rhodes, 91, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Albion to Gloyd and Bessie Mable (Hockenbarger) Gaff.

She graduated in 1947 from Albion High School and attended college in Nebraska for a few years. She was married on Nov. 22, 1952 in Kendallville, to Norman W. “Dick” Rhodes who preceded her on Jan. 22. She grew up in Albion, lived most of her life in the North Webster and Warsaw area except for a brief time in Waynedale. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Sears in Fort Wayne, Chicago, and Kendallville for several years, Mutual Bank in North Webster, and Pletcher Foods in Pierceton.

She formerly attended the United Methodist Church in North Webster.

She is survived byfour sons: John Rhodes of Canton, Ohio, Jeff (Kelly) Rhodes of Brookston, Jerry (Elizabeth) Rhodes of Canton, Ohio and Jay (Stacy) Rhodes of North Webster; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, and two brothers, John and Bert Gaff.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow on Saturday a.m. 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Deanna Strombeck officiating.
