
Josephine Yates, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2020, in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw. Josephine was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Dan and Martha (Marsillett) Reffitt. She was united in marriage to Burnis “Bud” Ousley Sept. 22, 1954 in Floyd County, Ky. He preceded her in death July 10, 1982. She was united in marriage to Dewey F. Yates in Warsaw, on Oct. 26, 1990, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.
She has been a resident of Kosciusko County since 1957. She worked as a home health care provider for many years and was a member of the Victory Rock Church, Warsaw.
Josephine is survived by children, Geneva Ousley McGlynn, Regina Ousley, Burnis “Bernie” (LaDonna) Ousley all of Warsaw, Oneda Ousley (Sammy) Boakye of Keller, Texas, and Ronald (Bernadette) Ousley of Claypool. In addition, she is survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmie, Amos, Joe, Henry and Floyd Reffitt; sisters, Ollie Baldridge, Mary Jane Shepherd, Audie Ellen Shepherd, Edna Mae Jackson, Julie Bell Powell, Sally Ann Coburn, Agnus Marie Reffitt and one granddaughter, Sandra JoAnn Manuel.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Victory Rock Church Warsaw. The funeral service will be held at the church at 10 a.m., Friday July 3, with Pastors Charlie Trout, Glen Hughes, Terry Bradford, and Junior Arnett officiating the service. Interment will be at Mentone Cemetery.
