John E. Schmucker, 60, Nappanee, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home, at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020.  He was born Jan. 22, 1960, in Elkhart to Earl and Mary (Miller) Schmucker.

Mr. Schmucker lived his lifetime in this area. On Nov. 6, 1980, he married Donna Borkholder in Nappanee.   He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Mr. Schmucker is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Rebecca (Ben) Kurtz, Nappanee; Joas (Ruby) Schmucker, Timothy (Regina) Schmucker, both of Wakarusa; Brian (Regina) Schmucker, Bremen; Daniel (Debra) Schmucker, Nappanee; Steven (Karen) Schmucker, Milford; Mary Kay (Robert) Miller, Warsaw; Ruth Ann (Karl) Yutzy, Wakarusa; Hannah Schmucker, Nappanee; 36 grandchildren; brothers, Elmer (Katie) Schmucker, Garrett, Kan.; Raymond Schmucker, Irvington, Ky.; Howard (Lisa) Schmucker, Eugene (Mary) Schmucker, both of Bremen; and sisters, Etta (Larry) Borkholder, Milford, Dorothy (Merlin) Yoder, Nappanee, and Judy (Maynard) Hostetler, Topeka. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Janelle Renae Schmucker; brother-in-law, Merle Yoder; and sister-in-law, Fern Schmucker.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private family services will be held.  Please remember the family with prayers and a card or note written to them.
