Ruth Eileen (Jones) Adams, 97, Argos, passed away May 1, 2020 at 1:12 p.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver, where she had been in declining health the past five years. On Feb. 18, 1923, in Argos, she was born to Arley Jones and Ila (Irwin) Jones. Ruth lived all of her life in the Argos community.

On Aug. 17, 1947, in Argos, she married Harry J. Adams. Together they shared the past 72 years.

Ruth worked for the Argos Post Office for 30 years as a clerk.

She was a former member of Jordan Baptist Church. Ruth was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1940.

Ruth is survived by her husband; daughters: Shirleen (Kim) Martens, Red Lodge, Mont.; Darleen (Jon) Vanderweele, Argos; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, brothers: Clair Jones and Ancil Jones; sister: Rosellen Morrell; great-grandchildren: Hudson Nielson and Trevon Browning.

Private graveside services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, with Rev. Mary Hyer of the Argos United Methodist Church.
