Meijer Stores To Make Changes During COVID Outbreak
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. — Meijer stores will be making changes to their deli department while they take measures against the spread of COVID-19.
An announcement on their Facebook page, the store shares they will be suspending services at the meat counters and deli salads so team members can prepare and package items for the self-refrigerated cases.
Meijer says they have no plans to close their stores.
They also said they will be donating $2.2 million to over 400 Simply Good food pantry partners to help feed hungry families.
This announcement comes after last week’s state mandated closure of all public school institutions throughout the state of Michigan.
Meijer says their Simply Give program helps feed thousands of people across the midwest.
