Robert L. “Bob” Dust, 90, Goshen, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 10:32 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at the Maples of Waterford Crossing in Goshen. He was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Chicago, Ill. to Fred C. and Esther J.B. (Hedin) Dust.
He moved to Syracuse in 1942 from Chicago, Ill., graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was the former o-owner and operator of Dust & Son Decorators for 47 ½ years as a painter and formerly was employed with Liberty Coach in Syracuse. He moved to Goshen in 2017.

He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, Disabled Veterans in Goshen, Eagles Lodge #3760 in Syracuse, and National Korean War Veterans. He attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and was a former member of the. V.F.W. #1342 in Syracuse.
He is survived by two nieces: Robin (Leo) Youngs of Syracuse and Vicky Mortimer of Fort Wayne; nephew: Danny Dust of Columbus, Ohio; and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Darlene J. Mortimer, brother: Fred C. Dust III, and lifetime companion: June Baker.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Syracuse American Legion.
