Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

6:28 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, East CR 150N, east of North CR 850E, Pierceton. Driver: Shawn J. Ponsler, 45, Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. A deer ran into the side of Ponsler’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000. 

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:

9:26 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, SR 13, south of CR 800E, North Webster. Driver: Jonathan M. Phillips, 29, Maple Street, Colon, Mich. Phillips’ vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000. 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

10:44 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Jenne M. Michael, 86,  East CR 900S, South Whitley; and Kay M. White, 82, Church Street, Roann. White was backing out of a parking space when Michael’s vehicle backed into White’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500. 

10:14 am. Wednesday, Feb. 12, US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Benjamin H. Marker, 31, Tobacco Road, Camden Wyoming, Del. Marker said the traffic signal turned yellow and he began slowing to a stop when the load in his flatbed trailer shifted and slid into the rear cab of the semi. Damage up to $25,000. 

Fulton County

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

6:47 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, SR 17 and CR 650S, Grass Creek. Drive: Kristy K. Showley, 39, Kewanna. Hit deer.

7:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, CR 525N and SR 25. Driver: Charles Schoff, no other information available. Hit deer.

7:01 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, SR 25 and CR 100S. Driver: Michael Hummel, no other information available. Hit deer.

6:08 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, CR 950S and CR 450W. Driver: David C. Norris, 81, Kewanna. Norris missed a turn, causing his vehicle to go off the road.

5:09 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, CR 825E and Division. Driver: Douglas R. Oliver, 45, Rochester. Hit deer.

3:12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, South SR 25, Rochester. Driver: Wyatt B. Brumett, 18, Logansport. Brumett’s vehicle went off the road.

4:52 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, CR 200W, north of CR 200N. Driver: Terry L. Fisher, 70, Logansport. Fisher’s vehicle went off the road and hit a pole.

6:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, US 31 and CR 375N, Rochester. Driver: Clinton J. Barts, 28, Rochester. Hit deer.

11:08 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, CR 375E and CR 700N, Rochester. Driver: Tom Schwenk, no other information available. Schwenk’s semtractor/trailer slid off the road, hitting an REMC pole.

9:54 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, East CR 100S, Akron. Driver: Olivia A. Livengood, 18, Akron. Livengood’s vehicle struck a pole.

Elkhart County

Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, CR 19 and CR 142, west of New Paris. Drivers: Pamela LaGuerre, 49, Goshen; and Penny Graber, 41, New Paris. LaGuerre complained of chest and left leg pain. Graber complained of back and chest pain. Both were taken to Goshen Hospital. LaGuerre failed to yield the right of way to the Graber vehicle. LaGuerre was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
