WARSAW — A Warsaw man was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Old Road 30.

At approximately 3:53 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on West Old Road 30, west of North Riverwood Ranch Road, Warsaw.

The crash involved a 1997 red Ford Ranger, operated by Albert L. Hurd, 85, West CR 100N, Warsaw; and a Lewis Salvage truck, operated by Ernie E. Morrison, 57, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw.

Morrison was traveling east on Old Road 30 when he saw Hurd’s vehicle attempt to make a U-turn from the south side of the roadway. Hurd’s vehicle then entered the east lane of travel, causing a collision.

Hurd’s vehicle sustained a heavy amount of damage to the driver’s side and front of the vehicle. Hurd complained of abdominal pain and sustained a small puncture wound above his left ear. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for treatment.

Damages are estimated at up to $25,000.
