‘Brouyette Taking Next Step To IWU’
Cade Brouyette will follow in the footsteps of his sister, Meredith, in choosing Indiana Wesleyan University to continue his athletic and academic career. Cade will take his talents to the golf course, whereas Meredith has been rostered with the basketball program for three years.
Cade had a renaissance season as a junior. The No. 1 for Valley went from just being an All-Three Rivers Conference performer as a sophomore golfer to being the TRC champion as a junior. He dropped his scores from 94 as a freshman to 78 as a sophomore then medalist 73 as a junior, all at Rozella Ford Golf Club. He fired eight birdies in his championship round.
Brouyette also raised his level of play at the sectional level, shooting 87s his first two tournaments before carding a 76 as a junior, missing the individual regional cut by one stroke.
Brouyette also had a hand in a pair of Tippecanoe Valley sectional championships, being a member of the Unified Flag Football team each of the first two seasons. As a junior, Brouyette and the Vikings made a run to the IHSAA State Finals in its first season. Last fall, the Vikings reached the regional round.
“I chose IWU because I loved the campus and what the school had to offer,” stated Brouyette. “The golf program is also a great fit for me.”
Indiana Wesleyan, coached by Kyle Bloom, opened its 2019 season with three straight championships among its fall campaign.
