ROCHESTER GIRLS 68, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 61

The Zebras grabbed a huge matchup in the Three Rivers Conference, taking sole possession of first place with a week to go.

Rochester moves to 6-1 with two games left while Valley falls a game back at 5-2 in the TRC, tied with Northfield.

Rochester led 50-45 entering the fourth quarter, then made 7-10 free throws down the stretch to seal the win. Kensey McKee led the Zebras with 15 points and was followed by Maci Brown with 13 points, Alexus Thomas with 12 points and Kamrynn Burkett with 10 points.

Jillian Walls and Kaydence Mellott combined to nail nine three-pointers and produce 33 total points. Sid Wagner added 10 points and Emma Craig had nine points.

The JV game went to Valley, 41-21. Rily Holloway had 15 points for the victors.

Rochester hosts Manchester and visits Northfield to end the TRC slate while Valley hosts Southwood and visits Manchester to close out its conference games.

TRITON GIRLS 31, JOHN GLENN 29

Triton held on for dear life, and were rewarded with a championship berth in the Bi-County girls basketball tournament.

Triton trailed by as much as seven points in the fourth quarter before mounting a big rally. Trailing 21-14 at one point, the Trojans came back to tie the game at 21, then moved up by as much as six, 31-25, before holding on. Glenn didn’t help its cause by missing all 13 of it’s three-point attempts.

Triton was led by Lexia Hostrawser’s nine points, eight points from Abbey Viers and seven points from Emma Hepler.

The Trojans will get Bremen Saturday night in the tournament championship.

ELKHART CHRISTIAN BOYS 78, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 27

It was all ECA from the start, blitzing LCA with a 52-point first half. Five Eagles hit double figures in the win, led by L Burns’ 15 points. Hunt and Coursen both had 12 points and Becker and Jachimiak each had 10 points.

Alex Cook scored all eight of his points in the second quarter and wound up being the high scorer for the Cougars. ECA did a number on LCA’s top two scorers, Cam Shepherd and Seth Martin, holding the two to a combined eight points.

ECA won the JV game 64-25. Cook was also the high scorer for the Cougars in the undercard, finishing with 13 points.

CASTON GIRLS 37, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 35

LCA dropped its fourth game in its last five tries in heartbreaking fashion at home Thursday night.

LCA trailed by nine points entering the fourth quarter, but fell a bucket short despite outscoring the Comets 13-6 in the final eight minutes.

Tori Calizo had a big game, registering a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Finley Hobbs added eight points, six steals and five rebounds. Jordan Gross and Natalie Norris both had four points and six rebounds.

Jordan Clinger led the Comets with 14 points and Emily Holt was right behind with 13 points.

PLYMOUTH C-TEAM BOYS 40, WAWASEE 30

Wawasee couldn’t keep pace with Plymouth in a loss at the Hardwood Teepee. Jay Finlinson and Peyton Felger each registered 11 points for the Warriors.

“We have shown progress since our last game,” stated Wawasee coach Andrew Wilson. “A couple balls bounce our way tonight and this is a different game. Proud of my guys.”

WARSAW 9TH GRADE BOYS 47, CONCORD 21

The Tigers moved to 13-3 with a big win over the Minutemen at Warsaw. Theo Katris led a balanced attack for Warsaw with 10 points, followed by Drew Heckaman and Dimitri Chandler with eight points and Jack Murrell with six points.

NORTHWOOD 8TH GRADE GIRLS 60, ELKHART NORTHSIDE 2

In a runaway, Karis Bennett led the NorthWood girls to its first win with 16 points. Joselyn Edwards had 12 points and Daisy Thomas added 10 points.

BETHANY CHRISTIAN 8TH GRADE GIRLS 36, WAWASEE 12

Abbi Burelison led the Lady Warriors with eight points and six rebounds in the loss.

WAWASEE 7TH GRADE GIRLS 50, BETHANY CHRISTIAN 7

Wawasee won its second game of the season behind Kirsten McCreary’s 14 points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Julie Mishler chipped in 12 points and five steals.

INDIAN SPRINGS 6TH GRADE GIRLS 39, WAWASEE 8

Ava Mock scored half of Wawasee’s points. In a B loss to Indian Springs, Olivia Frost had nine points.

LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE BOYS 44, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 9

Andrew Potter led the winners with 12 points and nine rebounds while Landon Durkes pulled down five rebounds for the Vikes.

LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE BOYS 56, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 15

Dallas Miller had eight points for Valley.

TRITON 8TH GRADE GIRLS 47, LAKEVIEW 30

Lakeview had Joey Rastrelli led the Tigers with 12 points. Addyson Viers registered a game-high 21 points to lead the Trojans in the victory.
