Jack Allen Miller, 89, Nyona-South Mud Lakes, Macy, went on his last ride to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at 4:35 p.m. at his daughter’s residence on South Mud Lake.
Jack was born on April 4, 1930, in Kokomo, the son of Donald T. and Lela B. (French) Miller. On May 16, 1959, he married Norma Jane Glassburn in Fulton. They shared sixty wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2019.
They lived at Nyona Lake, until his retirement in 1980, after thirty one years of service as a Tool Room Welder at Chrysler Transmission Plant Dept. 84 in Kokomo. His co-workers named him Heliarc. After his retirement in 1980, they moved to Brooksville (Weeki Wachee), Florida for thirty two years and back to Indiana in the summers.
His passion in life was riding his Harley-Davidson since he was sixteen years old. He has ridden over seventy years. One of his trips was over seven thousand miles. He was a member of ABATE, Manitou Moose Lodge for sixty three years and the Nyona-South Mud Booster Association. He was a Korean War veteran having served with the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his two sons, Rick of Abilene, Texas; and Kirk (Kay) of Justin, Texas; three daughters, Deb, Kim (Dan Smith) and Chris (Russell Bradley) all of Nyona –South Mud Lake, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Beverly Jean Biddle, granddaughter, Misty Kelley, nephew, Scott Bond, and great nephew, Bret Lear.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 21, at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center, Rochester, Indiana.
