Harlan D. Amburgy, 63, Mentone, passed at 3:26 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.

Harlan was born on Sept. 30, 1956, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to the late Charles D. and Velma (Newsome) Amburgy.

He was a factory supervisor and worked for Kralis Brothers, Othy and Zimmer Orthopedics.

He served his country in the Marine Corp as the rank of Lance Corporal from 1975 to 1977. He had been a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards, throwing horseshoes, the Chicago Cubs, and watching Notre Dame and the San Francisco 49ers play football. He loved spending time with family and friends having cookouts at the Mentone Park.

He is survived by his sister, Willa Pitts, Warsaw; brothers: Phillip (Tina) Amburgy, Rochester; Rick Amburgy, Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John R. Amburgy.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone.

The burial will follow the service in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, with graveside military rite being performed.

Visitation hours will be from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.
