Ryan Lee Miller, 43, 920 Anchorage Road 74, Warsaw, was arrested on a warrant from Kosciusko County on alleged charges of theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony.

On Nov. 21, an officer with Warsaw Police responded to a report of theft at Walmart in Warsaw. The officer spoke with asset protection who said they received a note from an unnamed employee regarding an alleged theft that occurred on Oct. 8, said the affidavit of probable cause.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage from Oct. 8, the officer discovered the man was driving a grey vehicle and had a prominent birthmark on his face. In the surveillance footage, the man selected multiple items of merchandise and put the items in a tote. The man scanned the tote containing the merchandise at a self-checkout register. According to the affidavit, he did not attempt to pay for the items inside the tote.

The value of the items totaled $153.48.

On Nov. 14, an officer was contacted regarding a report of the same man trespassing at Walmart. After contacting dispatch, the officer was able to identify Miller as the suspect from the alleged Oct. 8 theft via Miller’s information and photograph from the Indiana BMV.

Miller was previously convicted of theft in Kosciusko County in 2006, the affidavit said.

On Dec. 27, Miller was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $5,250 surety and cash.
